Sea of Love - by Cat Power from Juno OST

Out there, full of shine and full of sparkle

Out there, full of shine and full of sparkle
i was also listening to La Vie En Rose by Louis Armstrong (wall.e ost), and i suddenly realized another reason i love wall.e (: it's vintage meets ipod! :D in every sense of the word, in terms of music, design, story design, etc. what could be better.
i watched wall.e a second time and had time to watch out for e cameras and composition etc. I realize i agree with one of the reviewers, that the first 40 minutes is pure magic, like e old classic pantomimes of Charlie Chaplin, but aft tat it starts to go downhill. Of course it wasn't as magical watching it the second time, but the animation still amazes me. And if you want back the magic, just listen to the ost :D imagine the camera pan in to a dusty orange planet called Earth, and hear a voice sing, "...out there, full of shine and full of sparkle!.."
Wall.e is magic !!! :D i bought some (expensive) wall.e postcards to stick up on my desk as motivation for greater animation heights today. haha, how can you ever get enuff! never stop tweaking, never stop looking at your graph, never stop watching e arcs, never stop making sure the beats in your shot are clear.

all questions answered.
There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard No song that I could sing But I can try for your heart.
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things like a shoebox of photographs with sepia-toned loving Love is the answer.

beware: adult content.
last last saturday, dinner n spinelli (oh tat gorgeous blueberry cheesecake!), with the usual gang and ms grace n peter. i really shld stop calling her 'MISS' grace. lol.
it totally blows my cover of acting adult-ish in my company. we always have these social gatherings with alcohol and all, and i just blurt out "HEY MISS GRACE!"
inside, i just want to be a student! haha. so stress free. if you think school is stressful, think again. mada and our very delicious blueberry cheesecake. _________________________________________________________________
then last saturday was the company's beach party!!! ADULT beach party with lotssss of booze and some skimpily dressed ppl. hahahaha. I rmb i drank this horrible shot of pure vodka with salt n lemon. gross. Gin tonic's pretty good though, just rmb to ask them to add lots of lime, and i'm starting to really like whisky coke.
Kevin and his awesome new shirt! (before the booze, all proper and straight)
the alcohol kicking in.
Alcoholic Animators (and one wife) UNITE! (after the booze, all slouchy and slumped!)
the crazy squeeze in Barry's car out of sentosa at midnight (: i have nice collegues. as the only girl, i got to sit in front like a princess. haha.
so, in short, i'm trying to grow up, but i know i really don't want to. i think i don really like socializing and hanging out with unknown ppl, but its really getting easier than before (: esp when everyone's crazy about animation n films, its pretty easy to catch on the conversation. Not to mention the fact that i'm the only girl hanging out wiht 12 guys make me stick out like a sore thumb, so ppl rmb me. (i am a steak?)
sigh, its all going by in a blur. and now our mentor Kevin's gone, which is really quite sad. We hung out with him much more, so i really think he's gonna be missed in the studio. it's been an awesome 2 months, and i'm so thankful.
No matter whether my mum thinks i suck and can't go anywhere, i'll get somewhere i want to go, soon (: AND GO WATCH WALL.E, PEOPLE!!!
Wall.e
12:17 AM
Computer, define animation: Wall.e
i just watched wall.e it is amazing, astounding, inspiring, truly truly truly, one of the best animation films i've seen.
it just, blew me away.
if you do animation, if you do acting, if you do story, this is one of those you really need to watch. it's so laid down for you to feel. not stick in your face kinda comedy or soppy drama but,.. i sat down, not expecting much. And they didn't give much according to Hollywood's standards, according to perhaps mass appeal standards, but it is so simple so powerful.
as an animator, i mean, i was awed. i was touched, i was totally inspired. imagine this. can a box with eyes make you cry? or a white ipod lookalike cylinder with just 4 pairs of default eyes? its...awesome.
every step of the way i was wondering, how the hell are they gonna portray tat on a box?! if i were given any of those shots in e film, i cldn't even start. they made it look so simple. no whambam explosions in your face, or a spectacular array of color or french allure (ala Ratatouille), no fast cuts or crazy action sequences, just plain simple, film at one of its best.
i read a review online, and it stated that if wall.e was done by any other studio other than Pixar, even disney, wall.e wld have a heroic voice, the cockroach will be a wisecracking sidekick with wisdom in the form of pop culture metaphors...and it wld just be another animation film.
But Pixar, thank you (: for making me inspired and excited and beefed up abt doing and upping my standards. No mediocre for Clara, i want to be wonderful.
i'm not gonna be just another animation film. not just another cute robot character. You don't see the animation behind it, the thoughts, the acting. You're so wrong if you think its just some cute animation and another film.
i mean, animation doesn't only mean Horton kinda thing. it doesn't mean the bodies of the characters have to do things humans can't. being exaggerated, being over-animated is one thing, but the subtle, small things are wads really powerful. anyone can animate an outwardly shocked or angry character, but to put out a msg across with just a hand gesture, that is astounding acting and genius of animators via a box called wall.e and an oval called eve.
