i am a very happy girl today! shi han said he wanted to bring me somewhere special; at first i thought he was gonna bring me to the toy museum cos we met up at city hall, instead, he brought me to many art exhibitions he read about from the newspaper! :D super awesome ones at that. first up were the exhibits at the raffles arcade area, of some pop culture acrylic prints; i thought the choices of colors that were overlaid over each other were really good.
and then there was the Japan Media Arts Festival! You're supposed to pay $3 to get in, but shi han and i just showed our nyp student cards and we got in for freeeee :D yayyy.
*which reminds me :D tat amelie n yong ming are in Japan right nowwww *_* gahh! so envious! take care and have fun!*

LOOK AT THIS. is this cool or whatttt. when i first saw it my jaw just dropped. it looked like it just crawled out of a Miyazaki film mixed with some Naruto influence.

super scary cool! we spotted tiny metal plugs on his butt, which wld cause e light bulbs in him (see white bobs on spine n shoulders) to light up ** if only they wld plug him in, he wld be totally wicked.
oh n see this whole series of models? they're actually scenes in a story about a powerful samurai and some monsters :D very cool, too.
i really like the little detail of his dropped bottle, complete with water splashing out! :D

wowwww.
i realize i have neglected my blog for a month now! many things have happened, though mostly uneventful. it has just been work, eat, sleep, saturday out watching movie/shopping/chilling/sleeping and sunday's churching.
oh, though i must say i'm beginning to enjoy how happening my company is. All the parties and alcohol and free movies and thursday breakfasts really makes one feel very welcome (: my d-day is on 28th november. whether i get to stay or have to leave, i think i can say for certain that it has been the best working experience, and will continue to be the best experience as an animator in Singapore. You won't find a place like this elsewhere on this tiny island. Thankyou, Lucasfilm. I learnt more about animation & production in 5 months than i ever learnt in my 3 yrs of school, and I've never been so excited just watching monthlies, and proposals of upcoming projects. Work has really made me feel more alive than I had ever imagined.
I'm not sure if anyone can understand how i feel, but to be so excited and humbled by all the great ppl around you; it's not something that can be found easily. During my internship, i thought i was just a lazy ass cos i hated work and i hated the whole experince.
But now i know, that it's the people and the job scope that were all wrong. I couldn't be happier here & now; and i don't know what I wld do if i can't stay. Probably lie on my bed all december and emo; get up on the 25th to open my presents; then go lie back down again. I probably could do some online shopping for therapy, too.
oh well, i try not to think about it. It'll just affect my focus and cause me to read too much into everyone's gestures :S
Btw, the company's Halloween party was greattt;
- the super in-character Joker in Nurse costume won the first prize - and we only found out a week later that he wasn't really acting, he's just naturally hunched and awkward, haha; - iron man in his white singlet and self-made "battery" in chest won second prize (it was a wiiiiii *_*); - and girl in sexy corset and sponge ball boobs (i'm serious; they even popped out of her corset when she was performing but she coolly put them back in on stage) won third prize;...
...i'm soooo dressing up if i'm still here next halloween !!!! Probably transformers or something, hurhur :D see see: so cool rite! esp optimus prime.
gahhh. geeeekk. today i went to cut my hair at a new salon; he was trying to chat with me and i realize i'm not cool at all; and very much wanted to tell him geek stuff like movies and james bond and star wars and transformers...but in the end i just shut my trap and stoned. i need to be able to talk abt more stuff besides geek :(.
well today my new hairdresser was called Jeremy :D . I realize all the Jeremys i've met are handsome (hehehe), all the Jasons are jerks (all FIVE of them; except for no.SIX who's jap-looking, totally cool and kind to old ladies), and all the Alexs act tough but are actually very sweet and nice, and all the Jaspers are natural clowns.
sorry to be so random and babble, i just need to get these words off my brain! will post pics up when i get them (: !
oh here's one last last week (koped from manda!) me and my mr potato toy from toy story trying to be indiana jones !!! hahahaha. how awesome is that. it plays the indiana theme song when u press his hat; and all his parts can be kept inside him or swapped around, just like e real mr potato toyyy !!! :D :D :D **if you notice, it was wrapped in pink BARBIE wrapper that says "If the shoe fits, buy them in every color!" HAHA. Great advice zal & mirah, i'll try to keep that in mind when i'm shopping xD ! **

ohhh and here's an animation short that my friends at work love very much, hahaha. POCOYO ! i think its very amusing how he walks about flippin on his head and how the movements are super duper snappy but not jerky or jarring. pretty cute :D
